Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can provide you with nationally recognised qualifications by converting your existing skills, knowledge, and experience gained through prior work or study into formal competencies. RPL means you can gain qualifications simply by providing evidence of relevant knowledge and skills you have gained through previous work. This means you don’t have to waste time studying what you already know. For much more information, click on the RPL button in our top bar.
At RPL It, we’re dedicated to helping you achieve every qualification you’re eligible for. It’s our passion and expertise. What sets us apart from other providers is our extensive range of over 200 qualifications across various industries, coupled with the most competitive pricing in the market. Plus, we offer flexible payment plans, making it easier for you to afford your RPL qualification.
The cost of each qualification varies based on the qualification level, its complexity, and the payment option you select. Your RPL specialist will provide you with a range of payment options when you enroll with us, ensuring flexibility to suit your needs.
Our consultant will guide you through the entire process step by step. Once we confirm that you’re a good fit for RPL, you’ll need to gather evidence to show your skills and experience. This can include things like:
The goal is to show that you’ve worked in the industry long enough and can perform the necessary tasks at a professional level. We’re here to help make the process as smooth as possible!
People pursue qualifications through RPL for many reasons, including:
Yes, you can! The Australian Government offers a service to recognize overseas tertiary qualifications. Additionally, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) can assess overseas experience when reviewing your RPL application. Your evidence will need to be validated in the same way as it would for Australian-based experience.
This is a common misconception about RPL. With some providers, the process can be complex and time-consuming. However, with us, it’s much simpler. Unlike others who may ask you to map your skills to qualification units yourself, we handle that for you. We’ll guide you on exactly what evidence is needed, and once you provide it, we take care of the rest. RPL is only challenging if you try to do it on your own— with the right support, it’s easy!
While we can’t provide official tax advice, you may be able to claim the cost of RPL qualifications as a self-education expense. It’s best to consult your accountant or the Australian Tax Office for more guidance. Many of our customers have also used their tax refunds to cover the cost of RPL qualifications— and we believe investing in education is always a smart choice!
Credit Transfer is the process through which we acknowledge the credentials or competency units you already possess from previous study or qualifications you completed in the past. These credentials or units of competency will have been acquired by you from another recognized training with another Registered Training Organisation. We can apply those units against any study or RPL ticket application you make with us, free of charge, to reduce the amount of evidence you need to supply or the study you need to complete.
Basically, anyone can. Your assessor will map the skills, information, and experience you have acquired over your working career to qualifications or components of qualifications as part of the RPL process. If you have worked less than that, you should still be eligible to at least begin the qualification route. Anyone who has worked for more than two or three years should be able to acquire RPL for a qualification or part of a qualification. Your level of qualification will be determined by the length of your employment and the amount of seniority you have attained at your job.Â
The RPL process can be completed in as little as a few weeks, typically ranging from two weeks to a month after you’ve submitted all your evidence. The timeline largely depends on how quickly you gather the required evidence, as discussed with your assessor. Once your evidence is submitted, we forward it to our partner registered training organisation (RTO) for assessment, and you’ll usually receive an answer within a few days. If you’re having difficulty gathering evidence, we can assist through interviews and observations to help speed up the process.
They are! Your credentials will be provided in accordance with the Australian Qualification Framework, and as a result, all other Registered Training Organizations, including TAFE Colleges, must accept them.Â
The sorts of evidence that are appropriate for the qualification you want to obtain will be covered in depth by your dedicated RPL specialist and your assessor. A good starting point for pretty much every qualification is a resume, job description, and any qualifications or certificates you already hold.Â
Your RPL Assessor will look everywhere possible to find the proof you need to earn a qualification. However, there are occasions when it is simply impossible to get you to the other side. In that scenario, we’ll talk to you about your alternatives. They will likely involve looking at alternative qualifications or focusing just on the portions of the current qualification for which we lack supporting documentation. Our complete attention will be on helping you earn your qualification as quickly as possible.
If you are based overseas, You can authunticate/legalise your qualification in an Australian Embassy in your country, or we can do it for you.
There are three different steps that we need to complete if you wish to legalise your qualification prior to sending it to you overseas. Otherwise, you are able to do it yourself through the Australian Embassy in your own country.
Australian Qualifications can be legalised by first having a public notary notarize them. The department of foreign affairs will legalise them, and finally, the country you wish to use them in will legalise them. Additional fees apply for legalising your qualifications.
The department of foreign affairs officers will check the signature and seal on your qualification against their database.
They will verify the signature or seal by issuing an apostille or authentication certificate directly on the qualification. They may have to contact the issuing authority.
Processing times can vary; generally, in less than one to two week’s time, your qualifications will be legalised and ready to be posted to you.
The department of Foreign affairs will only legalise your qualification once it has been by a public notary.
You may want to pay your full fees upfront and receive a discount, or you might want to pay them as you go through the process. Whatever makes you more comfortable, there are no set-up fees or interest charged on payment plans.
You will be paying your first payment when you enrol in the qualification, and the remaining balance will be equally divided to be paid as you go through your RPL process. Bank transfers or credit cards can be used to pay for instalments.
This is your second instalment and is only due when you complete submitting all your evidence.
This is your third instalment and will only be required when your evidence has been assessed and approved and ready to be sent to the college to issue your qualification.
Like and old school Lay-By, you will receive your electronic/digital copy of your qualification(s) after your final instalment is received. Your qualification hard copy will be emailed at the same time.
